SAM.gov can email you that something was posted. It won't tell you whether it's worth your afternoon, and it won't tell you what changed when an amendment lands — so you either re-read the whole notice or you gamble.

Only what scored against your profile, with the reason it matched and a one-line summary of what the contract asks for. Volume is tuned to how many proposals you told us you can actually write a month — a feed of 200 matches is as useless as a feed of zero.

A contract that scores strongly against your profile reaches you minutes after it posts, by email or into your Slack channel. We check every fifteen minutes. The bar is deliberately higher than the digest's: at three in the afternoon you only interrupt someone for something worth stopping for, so a weak match waits for tomorrow's digest instead.

On the contracts in your pipeline, before the date — not a calendar you have to maintain by hand.
Amendment and award notices
When an amendment moves a date or changes scope on something you're tracking, you get the change. When it's awarded, you get who took it and for how much.
What this doesn't do
Instant alerts fire on strong matches only, and on Pro and Scale — Starter gets the digest it paid for. They are capped per pass on purpose: if a re-scoring produces a hundred strong matches at once you get the best of them and the rest go into your digest, because a hundred notifications in a row is not a hundred alerts, it is an unsubscribe. Everything the cap holds back is still in your feed — this trims the inbox, never the corpus.
