For Construction & Trades

Government construction bids, taken from found to won

YNTELRADAR watches every federal, state and local construction solicitation, scores it against your trade, bonding capacity and geography, and alerts you the day an amendment moves the bid date. Construction is one of the most amendment-heavy categories in federal contracting — a due date that shifts by a week is the single most common reason a good bid never gets submitted. And it does not stop at finding them: the solicitation documents are read for you and the requirements, deadlines and mandatory pre-bid meetings pulled out, the bid is priced against what the government actually paid, your proposal is drafted, and a step-by-step plan tracks it all the way to Won — in English or Spanish. 7-day free trial of full Pro — cancel in one click, no sales call.

Questions construction & trades ask

How do I find government construction bids?

Federal construction opportunities post on SAM.gov. The problem is volume and amendments: a single project can get five amendments, and any one of them can change the scope, the bonding requirement or the due date. YNTELRADAR tracks every amendment and tells you exactly what changed in one line.

What bonding do I need for a federal construction contract?

Contracts above $150,000 generally require performance and payment bonds under the Miller Act. Your bonding capacity effectively caps the size of the job you can bid. YNTELRADAR lets you filter by contract value so you never read a bid you can't bond.

Do I need to be registered on SAM.gov to bid on construction work?

Yes. An active SAM.gov registration is required to be awarded any federal contract. It's free, it takes a few weeks, and it expires every twelve months — an expired registration makes you ineligible for award, and nobody warns you until you lose.

What NAICS codes cover federal construction?

236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building), 237310 (Highway, Street and Bridge), 238210 (Electrical), 238220 (Plumbing/HVAC) and 238910 (Site Preparation) cover most of it. The solicitation names one, and it's the first filter a contracting officer applies.

Why do construction bids get amended so often?

Because the government answers contractor questions in writing, and those answers become amendments. Most are harmless Q&A. Some move the due date, change the bonding threshold, or rewrite a requirement after you started your estimate.

How far in advance are federal construction projects posted?

Usually 30 to 45 days before the bid is due, though it varies. On a large project you may see a pre-solicitation notice months earlier. Getting the notice on day one instead of day fifteen is often the whole difference.

Can a small contractor win federal construction work?

Yes, and small business set-asides are common in construction. The real constraints are bonding capacity and the ability to mobilize — not company size.

What is a pre-bid site visit and do I have to attend?

Many construction solicitations schedule a site visit, and attendance is sometimes mandatory. Miss it and your bid can be thrown out on a technicality. It's one of the key dates YNTELRADAR pulls out of the solicitation for you.

Everything you get

The whole cycle, on every contract

Finding the notice is the part everyone does — it is public. This is the rest of the job.

Federal, state and local

We are not a SAM.gov reader — SAM is one source of many. State portals, plus cities, counties, school districts and universities. The map shows exactly how deep we go in your state.

Scored against your business

Every notice gets 0–100 against your codes, your states and the work you actually do — with the reasons written out and checkable against the notice itself, not a number you have to trust.

The solicitation documents, read for you

We open the attachments and pull out the scope, what you need to qualify, the conditions and every date — including whether the pre-bid meeting is mandatory. And you can put a question to the documents.

Priced from what the government actually paid

Not what the notice asks for: the award history under the same code, with real amounts, so your number starts from evidence instead of a guess.

Who won

The companies that won comparable contracts under the same code, with the agency, the amount and the date. Where a code has no history on file we say so, instead of showing zeros.

Recompetes

Multi-year contracts coming up for renewal, spotted well before the notice is published — the work starts long before the solicitation does.

Teaming

Partner matching for the work you can't take on alone — and only partners we actually hold a contact for.

The proposal, drafted

A proposal draft built from the solicitation and your profile, the compliance matrix, and the email to the contracting officer. You edit instead of starting from a blank page.

From found to won

The capture plan with its tasks, the deadlines on your calendar — exportable to .ics, which nobody else in this market does — and the bid followed through to its result.

Daily digest and instant alerts

A daily digest built around your profile, instant alerts on what can't wait, and a warning when a deadline moves. The product chases you, not the other way round.

In English and in Spanish

The whole product in English and Spanish — the feed, the emails, the PDFs and everything the AI writes. Not a translated home page.

Every tool in this market covers a slice of that list, and some cover their slice very well. Nobody else covers the whole cycle — that is what we built.
