How to register on SAM.gov, without the headache
You cannot be paid by the federal government without an active SAM.gov registration. It's free, it takes a few weeks, and it trips up almost everyone.
What you need first
A UEI (Unique Entity ID), your EIN, and your bank details for electronic payment. Get the UEI before anything else.
The part people get wrong
Registration expires every 12 months. An expired registration makes you ineligible for award, and nobody tells you until you lose a bid.
